About the Game

Stelavia Logistics has just ruined your retirement plans (of course they would) by calling you up for a final mission. Naturally, they picked you to deliver a high-profile shipment to Sola Noctis station through Scylian Pass, the most notorious shipping corridor in the galaxy. So, it seems that Stelavia Logistics is committed to destroying all the careful effort you have put into avoiding Scylian Pass. If only your long years of experience didn’t nag that the stories whispered about Scylian Pass were only rumors and old wives’ tales. Despite everything, the mission was going well until you began hitting the micro-meteor clouds…

This game is in the early stages of development and still lacks many core features that will be implemented in the final version. Feel free to download the game and try it out, but be warned that it is currently lackluster in many regards and the final experience will be both more polished and (hopefully) more terrifying. If you do try the game now, Please leave feedback about what you like and what you think needs improvement the most.

If it wasn’t clear earlier, this game does have a story, though most of it is not yet implemented.

How to Play

Right now, you must use W, A, S, D, and the mouse to control the movement of your character. Details for managing ship systems are displayed on screen when you approach one of the systems. To regain your mouse pointer in the during the main game, press "R". You can also press “Esc” to pause the game. If you get stuck on geometry, you can unstick yourself by pressing “U”.

Your job is to make sure that every system in the ship is “balanced” by allocating adequate compute “cycles” to each system. Your ship’s computer has 8,500 compute “cycles” available. Most of them are already distributed to each of the ship’s systems. If one of these systems becomes imbalanced, you will need to assign extra cycles to that system for it to return to a balanced state. However, be careful how you allocate cycles, because you may encounter more than one imbalanced system at a time…

There is a safe room is at the back of the ship behind a blue forcefield.

Once you arrive at the space station, an arrow pointing out the direction of escape will appear in the corridor that the alien spawns in.

Current Features

  • An alien creature that you hunts throughout most of the ship.
  • A safe zone to take refuge from the creature.
  • Ship systems that degrade over time and require maintenance.
  • Arriving at the space station.
  • A scoring system that rates how well you did in the most recent run.
  • Failing to rebalance ship systems can eventually result in the destruction of the ship and the end of the run.

Planned Features

  • A console in the safe room that reveals important information about what you are facing.
  • A complete rework of the maintenance system.
  • Significant improvements to the AI of the alien.
  • Numerous bug fixes.
  • Various enhancements to increase the terror of the atmosphere.

Long-term Planned Features

  • Adding story milestones that allow the story to progress beyond individual runs.
  • Adding additional behavior patterns for the alien.
  • Making the ship layout procedurally generated.
  • Adding a crafting system that will allow you to increase the speed of certain actions as well as giving you some measure of defense against the alien.

Feedback will really help me to identify what the game currently does well and what needs improvement. Also, if there’s something that you really like about the game, letting me know would be hugely helpful.

Please do not pay for this game unless you truly believe that this game has potential and want to support it. Donating the suggested $1 would help me to know that you believe in the potential of the game and would be interested in buying the full game when it is finished. That said, please don’t spend any money on this game unless you are truly convinced of its value.

Thank you for playing Adrift in the Endless Void of Night, and please come back regularly for new updates. I hope you enjoy the journey!
